(Washington, D.C.) – Global Veg Corp is recalling all of its 5 lbs packages of “AVIATOR brand Sundried Tomato Halves” because they may contain undeclared sulfites. People who have a severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening reactions if they consume this product.
The recalled “Aviator Sundried Tomato Halves” was distributed nationwide. The product comes in a 5 lb. vacuum bags. No illnesses or adverse reactions involving this product have been reported to date.
The recall was initiated after routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis by Food Laboratory personnel revealed that the sulfite containing product was distributed in packages that did not reveal the presence of sulfites.
