WEST GLACIER, Mont. — Glacier National Park officials reopened Going-to-the-Sun Road late Monday morning after closing it Friday evening due to heavy rain and snow.
The closure, which stretched from Avalanche to Jackson Glacier Overlook, was a precaution against mudslides and icy conditions.
Rangers evaluated the area and determined it was safe to reopen around 10:30 a.m.
Visitors are reminded to check the park website for trail updates, prepare for changing weather, and be alert for road and trail hazards.
