Great Falls’ Montana Renewables to receive 1.6-billion-dollar loan.

(Montana) The US Department of Energy approved a 1.6-billion-dollar loan to Montana Renewables in Great Falls.

The loan was previously on hold but has now been approved.

Montana Renewables is a subsidiary of Calumet, providing gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and asphalt. The loan from the DOE will reportedly help the Great Falls facility to expand and increase production of sustainable aviation fuel.

The company also says they estimate this expansion will create around 500 jobs
