The Montana Historical Society is hosting a hands on history workshop for kids entitled “I can be a storyteller” on Saturday May 9th 11am at the Montana Historical Society in Helena.
In this workshop participants will discover that there are stories everywhere, and that anyone can tell them! Stories can be told through objects, texts, oral history, drawing, and many other ways. After exploring how they can tell stories in all of these different manners, they will examine some of the objects in the Montana Heritage Exhibits to see how the museum staff told their stories. Then, the kids will become curators to tell the stories of their own objects – participants can bring their own special items from home, or items will be provided.
This workshop is aimed at kids ages 7 and up, and capacity is limited to 15 kids. You can sign up on the Montana Historical Society website.
