Havre Airport to ask to increase their mill levy on June 4 ballot.

(Havre) The Havre Airport plans to ask for a mill levy during this round of ballots, with the hope that the local funding can keep the airport federally funded, as the federal funding will cover 90 percent of the airport’s funding if they can come up with 10 percent of it locally.

New Media Broadcasters spoke with Jake Phillips, a member of the board of directors for the Havre City/County Airport, for more information.

“So the airport, their proposal is to replace the current two mill levy with a three-mill levy, so that’s an additional one mill. The two mills actually expire this year. The value of that mill levy is about 4 dollars and five cents per 100 thousand dollars of your home’s value”
