(NMB) The Havre Blue Ponies and Chinook Sugarbeeters both advanced to this week’s State Volleyball in Bozeman. Havre finished second in the Eastern “A”, Chinook took second in the Northern “C”.
After suffering a 5 set loss to Hardin in the Quarterfinals on Friday, the Ponies beat Billings Central 3 sets to 2. Then got by Laurel 3 sets to 1, putting the Ponies in the Championship match against Hardin. Hardin would defeat Havre 25-17, 25-23 and 27-25. The Ponies will open up Sate Tournament play Thursday at Noon.
The Sugarbeeters were defeated by Belt in The semi-final match Friday evening but beat Fort Benton Saturday 3 sets to 0 to earn a rematch with Belt for the Championship. In that Championship match Belt beat Chinook 25-21, 25-18 and 25-21. The Beeters will play at 10am Thursday at the State Volleyball tournament.
