Havre Animal Shelter Under Quarantine Due to Parvo

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Havre’s Animal Shelter is under a quarantine as a precaution after they received a puppy who tested positive for parvovirus. In a Facebook post, the Shelter says the puppy is expected to make a full recovery and no other animals have shown signs of the virus, including another puppy who was housed with the infected dog.

In an effort to prevent the spread of the virus, the shelter is closed to the public and no animals are being accepted for surrender or adopted out until further notice. They hope to resume normal operations next week.

Animals found running at large are still being picked up and isolated at the shelter.
