The Havre boys’ basketball team picked up another victory on Tuesday night, beating the Malta Mustangs by the final score of (77-68). The Blue Ponies once again got off to a slow start, trailing by two after one. Havre was plus-7 in the scoring column in the second, leading by five at the half. The third quarter saw multiple lead changes and the Blue Ponies were still in front, (57-54) at the horn.
Havre started to pull away in the fourth quarter. With 4:20 to go in the game and the Mustangs up by three, Malta star Treyton Wilke was called for a technical foul. The Ponies would capitalize with two free throws and a Kash Keller three-pointer to go up (67-65). The Ponies ended up finishing the game on a (15-3) run.
Junior guard led a Havre offensive attack with 18 points, followed by senior guard Shane Patascil with 16. Senior guard Jackson Headdress went for 13 points and Keller chipped in 12.
