HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – This Saturday, the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their inaugural Christmas Stroll.
The stroll will begin at 11 am and feature a variety of events, including sleigh rides and cookie decorating at the county library, a coloring contest at the Atrium and a snowman building contest.
Julea Robbins, Executive Director of the Chamber, says the idea for this event came from the Chamber Events Committee.
“They’ve been looking at what can bring more people out into our community, kind of looking at what the businesses like to see. This event kind of came a long. A lot of other communities do Christmas strolls like this so we’re jumping on the bandwagon and trying to make it work for Havre, too.”
Robbins says there will also be Christmas characters around town spreading holiday cheer.
“We will have Christmas characters walking around downtown, including Anna, Elsa and Olaf. You can take pictures with them. And then we’re going to have caroling in the Atrium. Just all around fun.”
There will also be a local shopping contest, where the five people that spend the most at local businesses receive Chamber gift certificates. The shopping punch cards for this contest are valid from Thursday through 5 pm Saturday, when they must be turned into the Atrium.
