Havre City Council Adopts Town Song

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Havre’s City Council met for a short meeting Monday night. Before the Council dug into their agenda items, Bill Lanier encouraged the Council to approve their first item, which was adopting the Havre Song by the Timely Trio as the Official Havre song.

The Council did adopt the song and some members wanted to make sure that it gets sung at future community events.

They also approved an ordinance change on second reading to remove an upper age limit to the qualifications for becoming a city firefighter. The City was concerned about age discrimination lawsuits and now the language refers to the state mandated qualifications.
