Havre City Council: Boil Advisory still in effect for the time being.

(Havre) The Havre City Council held their second meeting of the month on Monday, May 20th to provide the public with an update on the city’s water supply, which has been under a boil water advisory for over a month.

The meeting began with Director of Public Works Trevor Mork giving a presentation on the timeline of the situation so far, as well as showing graphs that depict different aspects of the cities water treatment. The city says those slides are available on the city of Havre website.

The council says that the boil water advisory will continue for the time being, with Mayor Doug Kaercher saying that the next possible end date would be May 31st. The city says the reason that the advisory is continuing is because their request to have it taken off was denied by Montana’s Department of Environmental Quality.
