Havre City Council Recap 8/17

The Havre City Council met on Monday August 17th for their second meeting of the month, and it featured a packed agenda. The council declared a vacancy in ward one of the city to replace Bonita Bernhardt., then they passed a resolution allowing the city to dispose of of obsolete property. Next, they passed passed a resolution establishing fees for copies provided by City Employees to individuals and organizations.

Next, the council passed a group of resolutions on first meeting that relate to the Fiscal Year 27, The resolutions passed were related to assessing a tax for street lights, streets, bullhook, and solid waste services. The proposed tax assessment on Bullhook is for flood control. The council then adopted the 2027 preliminary budget and set a public hearing on the budget for Tuesday September 1st, 7pm at City Hall.

The final items passed by the council were numerous request for street closures during during the week of Havre Festival Days.
