Havre Community Thanksgiving Dinner Will Deliver to the Homebound

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Volunteers across the Hi-Line are getting ready for Havre’s annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner. Dinner organizer Debi Rhines says that this event is funded by an anonymous donor every year. She says they will be delivering meals to the homebound, if they call the Havre Senior Citizens Center before Wednesday.

“They can call the Senior Citizen’s Center and that number is 265-5464 and place your reservation for a Thanksgiving Dinner. We ask that you are home between the hours of 9 AM and 11 AM to receive those dinners.”

Rhines says that in 2012, they planned to serve 600 people and this year they will cook for 900. Last year they served over 830 meals.

“We served 413 meals in the dining room and we delivered 420 meals out to the community. It was much higher, I think the previous year, well I don’t remember the exact number, but we continually go up between 25 and 30 people every year.”

Dinner will be served from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at St. Jude’s Parish Center and they will be serving a traditional Thanksgiving meal.
