Havre Eagles Collecting Toys to Donate

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Havre Eagles Club is once again holding their community toy drive.

Candace Dess, Auxiliary President of the Club, says they are seeking new, unwrapped gifts that are suitable for children ages 0 to 14.

“I don’t really have a number or a goal. I just hope to do better every year. This is my third year being this actively involved in this project. And every year has been better than the previous. So it’ll be fun to do. And like I said, the community really shows up for this. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to do anything.”

Monetary donations, as well as hats and gloves, are also welcome.

“We’re going to do stockings. We’re hoping to give every kid a stocking this year with a hat and a pair of gloves and some treats in there.”

Drop boxes are set up at Walmart, North 40, Gary & Leo’s, Ben Franklin Crafts, Hill County Printing and the Eagles Club.

The program is coordinating with the Salvation Army and Toys for Tots to ensure that as many children as possible receive toys for the holidays.

On December 7th, the Eagles Club and Friends will be visiting local businesses to solicit donations of toys or money for the drive.

Toys will be distributed the week of Christmas.

To sign up to adopt a family, call 262-0498.

Monetary donations can be made by contacting Dess at the number listed above or visiting the Eagles Club.
