Havre, MT – Havre high boys basketball got knocked out of the Eastern A divisional tournament in three games, but not before a win over conference rival Lewistown.
The boys split with Lewistown in the regular season winning in Havre (58-51) but got blown out in Lewistown (69-29). Head coach of the Blue Ponies, WaLynn Burgess believes their (53-45) win was the team’s best performance all season long.
“They are your arch nemesis you know and two weeks before that they really stuck it two us and had a running clock. It really meant a lot to the guys to go out and win that game. i thought the way they responded and how locked in they were, kudos to them because it could have been the other way after a loss to billings central. I think they chose to go out and fight and go out swinging the way wanted to.”
The Blue Ponies Finished the year 7-15 overall 2-1 against Lewistown and loose six seniors.
