HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Havre-Hill County Library has announced that they now have three iPads, three laptops and 11 hotspots available to be checked out for one-week loan periods.
Library Director Rachel Rawn says she hopes this offering can help bridge the digital divide that has been exacerbated by the pandemic.
“We are open now but we still have a half hour time limit on how long people can stay. Sometimes that’s just not enough if you’re applying for a job or taking online classes. Anything like that can take a lot longer than half an hour. So people can now check these out for a week at a time. They can work in the comfort of their home.”
This was made possible thanks to the Montana State Library Hotspot and Mobile Lending Program, and other funding from the Montana State Library.
The Library’s current hours of operation are weekdays from 9 AM to 6 PM, with the first hour each day reserved for vulnerable populations.
Anyone that would prefer not to enter the building can arrange for curbside pickup by calling 265-2123, emailing library@havrehill.org, or contacting them through Facebook or Instagram.
