Havre Jaycees Preparing for Annual Fireworks Display

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – With less than a week until the Fourth of July, the Havre Jaycees are in the final stages of preparations for their annual fireworks display at the Great Northern Fairgrounds.

Jaycees member Kevin Holmes says this year’s show will be different than previous iterations.

“There was a recent expansion in the equipment, and we were able to, with the money we raised last year, max out the amount that the equipment would handle for a bigger night display this year. So that’s really exciting.”

The show will start once it is dark, so likely shortly after 10 PM. Holmes recommends people park on the hill by the Detention Center or by the National Guard for the best view.

The Havre Jaycees are also selling fireworks at their booth on the north side parking lot of the Great Northern Fairgrounds. The booth is open from 5 PM-Midnight on weekdays and 12 PM-Midnight on weekends through July 4th.

“We just purchased a brand new booth, because a couple years ago, our fireworks booth did burn down. But we were able to, with the support of the community, be able to purchase a new fireworks trailer, one that fits our needs a lot better than the one we were using temporarily. And this one is a lot more mobile, has a lot more space for us, and we’ve been able to make it our own, which was really exciting.”

All funds raised will help pay for next year’s fireworks show.
