Havre Man Charged for Allegedly Firing Gun Friday Morning

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – A 21 year-old Havre man has been charged in Hill County Justice Court with six counts, including criminal endangerment, for allegedly firing a gun into the air early Friday morning.

Kolten Mitchell Harp is also charged with aggravated DUI, driving on a suspended license, open container, criminal possession of dangerous drugs, and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.

Court documents say that shortly after 2 AM Friday, multiple calls were received about a gunshot coming from a red Ford F-150. Witnesses say that Harp and another man got into an argument outside the Oxford Bar. They separated and Harp got into the pickup. At the intersection of 4th Avenue and 1st Street, he allegedly fired a gun into the air out the drivers window.

The pickup was located a few blocks away. Harp denied knowing about the gunshot, but said there was a gun under the drivers seat of the vehicle.
