Havre Man Killed, 1 Injured in Motorcycle Crash on Beartooth Highway

BILLINGS, Mont. (NMB) – One person was killed Saturday afternoon after a motorcycle wreck on the Beartooth Highway in Park County outside Yellowstone National Park.

Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Brandon Timm says that the accident happened at about 2 PM Saturday when the motorcycle carrying the Havre couple missed a sharp left curve. The motorcycle went off the side of the road and into a dry creek bed. The motorcycle overturned and they landed in the rocks. The 70-year-old male driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the 69-year-old female passenger was flown to Billings Clinic for treatment. As of Monday, she was still at the Billings Clinic.

Authorities say they were wearing helmets and driving a 1996 Harley Davidson motorcycle

The Park County Sheriff’s Office has not released the couple’s names, but Timm confirmed the couple was from Havre.
