Havre, North Star Districts Report COVID-19 Cases

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Two Hill County school districts have reported at least one COVID-19 case over the last few days.

North Star

North Star Public Schools put out a press release on Monday stating that a student tested positive for COVID-19 on October 22nd. They are waiting on confirmation from the state lab, and some of the District’s students and staff were in contact with the student during the period of potential exposure.

The student last was in contact with students and staff on the afternoon of October 19th.

Close contacts have or will be notified and provided further instructions.

North Star Public Schools will continue with in-person learning and are working to prevent the spread of the virus within the school.

Havre

On Monday afternoon, Havre Public Schools reported that two individuals associated with the District had tested positive for COVID-19.

The individuals were in contact with the District during the period of possible exposure.

  • One individual last at Havre Middle School on Tuesday, October 13th. Contact tracing is not necessary as the individual has been in quarantine
  • One individual last at Havre High School on Wednesday, October 14th. Contact tracing is not necessary

On Sunday evening, Havre Public Schools reported that seven individuals associated with the District had tested positive for COVID-19.

The individuals were in contact with the District during the period of possible exposure.

  • One individual last at Linoln McKinley on Wednesday, October 14th. Contact tracing is not necessary
  • Two individuals last at Havre High School on Friday, October 16th. Contact tracing is ongoing
  • Two individuals last at Highland Park School on Monday, October 19th. Contact tracing is ongoing
  • One individual last at Havre High School on Tuesday, October 20th. Contact tracing is ongoing

Havre Public Schools has now reported 44 total District-associated COVID-19 cases.

Havre Public Schools remains in fully remote learning through October 27th. A Board meeting is scheduled for 12:15 PM on October 27th to decide on how to move forward.
