Havre, MT – After two significant wins last Friday and Saturday, Havre High softball improved to 7-8-1 on the season. Havre head coach Tony Vigliotti told new media broadcasters what those wins meant for Blue Pony’s post season hopes.
“We put ourselves in a position to host a play in game next Friday against the winner of East Helena and Hardin. We win that and we go to the state tournament and that was our goal when we started this season. We are right where we want to be and hopefully, we can finish strong and keep playing well.”
Before the play in game, the Blue Ponies will end their regular season at the Butte tournament this Friday and Saturday. Coach Vigliotti said the tournament is another opportunity for the team to grow before the offseason.
“Its just four non-conference games against good competition. We’re going to play Laurel, Polson, Hamilton and Frenchtown, all top-quality teams in the state of Montana. It’s a good chance for us to learn and grow.” Vigliotti said.
The Blue Ponies Battle Laurel in game one of the weekend on Friday with first pitch scheduled for 1:45p.m.
