HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Havre Police Sergeant Jordan Chroninger says that three people were arrested Thursday evening following a brief pursuit in the area near Havre Middle School.
30-year-old Isaiah Standingrock of Havre is the alleged driver and had a federal warrant for his arrest. He also faces pending charges of tampering with evidence and fleeing or eluding.
Cecilia Denny, 23, of Box Elder, faces pending charges of obstructing justice and obstructing a Peace Officer.
Seraya Standingrock, 28, or Box Elder, faces a pending charge of obstructing justice.
All three were being held in the Hill County Detention Center without bond as of Friday morning.
Chroninger says officers attempted conducted a traffic stop near the middle school at around 5:30 PM because there was a person with a federal warrant in the vehicle. A brief pursuit ensued and the three occupants of the vehicle were arrested.
Chroninger says to his knowledge, there was no damage to people or property as a result of the pursuit.
The incident remains under investigation.
According to federal court records, in May 2019, Isaiah Standingrock was sentenced to 28 months in prison and three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute oxycodone. The charges were initially unveiled in an indictment in August 2018.
In June 2021, Standingrock was sentenced to an additional four months in prison and 32 months of supervised release after being found in violation of his release conditions.
In September 2021, Standingrock was sentenced to an additional two weeks in prison after being found guilty of criminal contempt. According to court records, Standingrock was temporarily released from custody in July 2021 to attend two funerals but did not return by the court-issued deadline.
Information on the federal warrant that was outstanding for Standingrock is not currently available.
