HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Havre Public Schools Board of Trustees held a Special Meeting on Tuesday afternoon and approved numerous agenda items.
This includes the final budget for fiscal year 2023 for both the Elementary and High School Districts. The Elementary budget is $12,925,633.43, while the High School budget is $7,089,890.40. These figures are about the same as what was presented at the preliminary budget meeting and is the maximum allowed by the state per their ANB (Average Number Belonging) level.
The Board also approved a request for two 19-year-old students to attend Havre High for the fall semester. It was determined they meet the necessary criteria to be considered for admittance. The enrollment of these students will not count towards the Fall student count.
In the final item of business, the Board approved a proposal to increase wages for subs in school food service and clerical positions from $10.50 to $11 an hour. This is consistent with changes in wages for other school groups.
In other news, Superintendent Craig Mueller says they confirmed with the Montana Office of Public Instruction that they qualify for free meals for K-5 students. This includes breakfast and lunch for the 2022-23 school year.
The next Board meeting will be the regular monthly meeting, which is scheduled for Tuesday, September 13th at 6:30 PM at Havre Middle School
