Havre Tennis Results – State Tournament Day 1

The Havre boys’ tennis team started a journey at the state tournament on Thursday morning in Kalispell. No. 4 seed Jackson Headdress’s season came to an end, fighting for every point and every game, but ultimately falling in his final set, (3-6).

As for the boys’ doubles teams, the No. 1 seed of Carter and Max Spangler had a rough go against Hardin’s No. 4 team to open play, but were still able to get over the hump in straight sets, (7-5, 8-6). They then dominated Whitefish’s No. 2 team, (6-4, 6-4). The Spangler brothers are now two wins away from a state title.

Havre’s No. 4 seeded doubles team of Carter Chagnon and Mason Kinsella lost their first match to the No. 1 seed from Hardin, (6-0, 6-0), but used that adversity to battle back. In the first loser-out match of the consolation bracket, the pair defeated Beaverhead County’s No. 2 team in a three-set thriller, (7-5, 5-7, 7-5). That game took a lot out of the duo as they fell in the next loser-out match to Park County’s No. 3 team, (6-2, 6-2).
