Havre Tennis Teams Hosting Havre Invite

The Havre tennis teams will be back in action this weekend after having an entire week of no competition. New Media Broadcasters recently spoke with head coach Jeff Miller and he said what the team worked on during the time off and how rejuvenated his squad feels ahead of more matches.

“Overall, it was a good week,” Miller said. “We had some weather conflicts, but I felt like the kids had a good four or five days of practice.”

“Things went well,” Miller continued. “I feel like we got pretty much everything we wanted to get done done.”

The Havre Invite is scheduled for Friday and Saturday this week. While the weather for Friday looks clear, the competition on Saturday could get thrown off by rain hitting Hill County. Coach Miller has all the details about what teams will be on court to take on the Blue Ponies in the home invite.

“We’re really excited to host,” Miller said. “We only get to do it once a year.”

“Friday, we have a couple of duals. We’re playing East Helena and (Dawson County),” Miller continued. “(It) will be really good to see some fellow Class ‘A’ opponents.”

“Saturday is more of a tournament format,” Miller continued. “(East Helena and Dawson County) along with Cut Bank and Conrad coming up.”

“(It’ll be a) really busy couple of days, but it’s good to have a home meet and get some people from around town to come watch us,” Miller said.

Both days of the Havre Invite will be taking place at the Havre Tennis Courts.
