The Havre Track & Field Team saw their first action of the season over the weekend as they traveled to Glendive. The Boys placed 1st with 93 points while the girl’s placed 4th with 49 points.
Head Coach Kari Filius was asked about her team’s overall impressive performance in their first action of the season:
“I thought the kids competed well. They were excited, with this being our first meet after a couple cancelations. Several of them were starting where they finished last year, that was good to see.” – Filius
Macee May of the Girls Team earned her way to state in the Triple Jump, congratulations to May on a fantastic start to the season.
The Blue Ponies were forced to practice more than normal indoors to begin their season. Coach Filius was impressed by the lack of rust her team showed after being indoors for so long:
“ You know honestly it was a typical track meet, what we were doing inside must have translated. They ran really good times compared to last year.” – Filius
The Havre Track & Field team have a two big meets this week. Thursday @ Lewistown and then home for the Cal Wearley Invitational on Saturday.
