Havre Volleyball Brings Spikes To “BlocktoberFest”

The Havre High volleyball team is back at it when they go down to Butte this weekend to play in “Blocktoberfest”.

When asked about if this tournament would be similar to the matches that were in Lewistown to begin the season, head coach Cassie Krueger explains how the format works and also breaks down who the Blue Ponies could potentially match up with in pool play.

“It won’t be similar to the tip-off tournament. It will just be one set to 30 points, no ‘win-by-two’. It’ll just be a cap at 30 (points),” Krueger said.

“All day Friday, we have about eight games lined up,” Krueger said. “We have Hardin in our pool, who we’ve seen.”

“We’ll also be able to see the top teams that we haven’t (played) like Hamilton and hopefully Whitefish and potentially Dillon. It just depends on how we match up on Friday.”

The teams that Coach Krueger listed will give her club some unique challenges. With the team currently on a two-match losing streak, this will be a time to be excited for what is ahead as the season winds down. Krueger is looking forward to the tests.

“It’s going to be a really good sneak peek into how divisionals and state (tournaments) are going to look for us,” Krueger said. “I’m really excited for this weekend.”
