Havre Woman Arrested After Attempted Wal-Mart Theft

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – On Friday, the Hill County Sheriff’s Office responded to an attempted theft call at Wal-Mart. 29-year-old Heather Durbin from Havre apparently had attempted to steal a TV and some speakers from the store, but abandoned the items and ran.

Hill County Undersheriff Stan Martin said they checked the store surveillance cameras and confirmed the attempted theft. Durbin was later located and arrested. Martin says Durbin also recently tried to use counterfeit money.

Durbin has ben charged with forgery, two counts of theft, and obstructing a peace officer. As of Monday morning, she was being held in the Hill County Detention Center on a $4,090 bond.
