The Havre wrestling teams competed in Butte this weekend. For the boys, they were in the Class ‘A’ duals, while it was the Butte Central Girls Invitational for the Lady Ponies.

The Havre boys wrestled to a 2nd place team finish in Pool D, losing only to the Sidney-Fairview Co-Op. In the championship bracket, the Blue Ponies ended up placing 8th overall out of 16 schools, beating Hardin before losing to Laurel in the quarterfinals and dropping their last two consolation matches to Lockwood and Miles City.

For the girls’, they got good showings from Brooklyn Wilting (2nd place at 120 pounds), Paloma Padilla (3rd place at 145 pounds), Angelina Siebanller (3rd place at 185 pounds) and Aliyah Stiffarm, who placed 2nd at 235 pounds.

Next up for both the boys’ and girls’ wrestlers is a senior night meet with Great Falls High and CMR on Thursday with festivities beginning at 4pm and then 6pm. They will then be in Malta for their invite on Saturday.
