Earlier this week, it was announced that Havre senior track and field athlete Kaydance Reiter has been offered a scholarship by the University of Montana to run for its program next fall. This comes as the first scholarship offer for Reiter after taking her first official college visit to Missoula.
“I fell proud,” Reiter said to New Media Broadcasters in a statement. “I was so impressed by the kindness of the coaches and student-athletes. I just really enjoyed the atmosphere of the team!”
Reiter, who is the current state champion at the Class ‘A’ level in the 100-meter dash and has officially run as low as a 12.16, lost just one time all of last season in that event. She also is the current runner-up in the 200 meters and has a second-place state finish as a member of the 4-by-100 relay team and third in the 4-by-400 relay.
Reiter shared throughout her recruitment process that she has been in contact with multiple schools that span from the NCAA Division I level to the NAIA. She told New Media Broadcasters she will soon take another official visit, this time to Bozeman to see Montana State’s track and field program.
