The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services announced recently that millions of Americans will see significant savings on their healthcare premiums next year.
Projected weighted average premiums for Medicare Advantage plans will drop more than sixteen percent, with average prescription drug premiums within those plans plummeting thirty-eight percent. Meanwhile, average premiums for stand-alone Part D prescription drug plans are expected to rise by less than one dollar per month, signaling broad market stability.
CMS Administrator Doctor Mehmet Oz stated that the agency is successfully fighting to keep high-quality care options affordable. He noted that ninety-seven percent of beneficiaries will continue to have access to ten or more Medicare Advantage plans.
Officials are urging beneficiaries to use the upcoming Medicare Open Enrollment period to review their options and find the best fit for their budget. Open enrollment begins October fifteenth and runs through December seventh. For free assistance, beneficiaries can visit Medicare dot gov or call 1-800-MEDICARE.
