HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The General Election ends in less than a week, and counties on the Hi-Line have already seen outstanding voter turnout.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Hill County had 4,848 ballots had been returned, putting turnout at around 53 percent. In the 2016 Presidential Election, 6,727 people cast their ballot in Hill County.
In Liberty County, 812 ballots had been returned, putting turnout at over 67 percent. In the 2016 Presidential Election, 992 Liberty County voters cast their ballot.
In Chouteau County, which opted for a traditional poll election with the option to vote absentee, 1,513 ballots had been returned, putting turnout at around 65 percent for absentee voters and 41 percent overall. In the 2016 Presidential Election, 2,715 people voted in Chouteau County.
For Blaine County, 2,111 ballots had been returned, putting turnout at around 51 percent. This is just about 700 votes shy of the 2,818 votes cast in Blaine County in the 2016 Presidential Election.
And for Phillips County, 1,573 ballots had been returned, putting turnout at approximately 56 percent. In the 2016 Presidential Election, 2,248 votes were cast.
Voting Reminders
Ballots must be received by 8 PM on Election Day. Postmarks do not count. At this point, it is highly recommended that voters drop their ballots off at your County Courhouse or a Satellite Voting Office.
Online voter registration has concluded, but people can still register to vote at your local Clerk and Recorders Office or a Satellite Voting Office.
