Havre, MT – Havre Northstar Baseball has continued to grind out a long summer season that ended with them securing the number one seed in the North A District tournament.
Northstar baseball only won four out of their first 10 games but ended the year winning nine of their last 10. Head coach Ben Mader said his team’s confidence in multiple areas is where his players grew the most.
“I would Say just their confidence, not only in themselves but their teammates. They know they got eight guys behind them that make plays so that gives our pitchers freedom to stay in the strike zone and be efficient.”
Northstar Baseball is gearing up for their first game at 11:30 a.m. in Great Falls at Don Olson Field Thursday July 23.
Coach Mader says the key Thursday will be the same mindset that helped build up their level play late in the regular season.
“Just our focus on how we approach every game. Just go 1-0 and be clean for each other.”
