HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Hill County Commission convened on Thursday morning for their weekly business meeting and appointed Ken Erickson and Kaleb Fisher to the Great Northern Fair Board.
The Board now has a total of four members out of a possible seven, meaning they can establish a quorum at meetings.
The Board had been at just two members since the beginning of August following the resignation of Chair Josh Heitzenroder and the removal of Bob Sivertsen.
The next Great Northern Fair Board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 21st at 5:30 PM at the Community Center at the Fairgrounds.
Meadowlark Dissolution
Also at Thursday’s meeting, the Commission approved the dissolution of the Meadowlark Estates Water and Sewer District. This came after District residents overwhelmingly voted to dissolve the District. 22 voted to dissolve, three voted to keep the District intact, and four did not vote.
Other action taken or items discussed at the meeting:
- Approval of an invoice claim from Beaver Creek Park for $600 for work that went into the harvesting of 20 beaver this trapping season
- Approval or a resolution amending the County budget for the reception of a $39,857 grant from DPHHS for COVID vaccine planning
- Approval of replacement grant agreements for a project to add instrumentation to Beaver Creek Dam. The previous agreement did not have ARPA language or funding info included
- Approval of a 1 lot, 100 acre subdivision in northern Hill County at the request of Jon Stoner, who says he is not planning on selling the land
