HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Hill County Commission convened on Thursday morning for their weekly business meeting and unanimously voted to remove two members from the Rural Fire District 1 Board.
The removals of Alan LaBuda and Bob Jacobsen came at the recommendation of the other three members of the Board, as LaBuda and Jacobsen had three unexcused absences from meetings.
County Chair Diane McLean said that removing citizens from Boards is not something they take pleasure in, but LaBuda and Jacobsen had not responded to numerous inquiries from the Commission, including letters sent back on July 22nd.
The Commission will now proceed with advertising for the two open positions.
The three active members of the Board are continuing to work on coming to a fire suppression agreement with the City of Havre.
