HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Hill County Commissioners held their weekly business meeting on Thursday morning and unanimously approved numerous agenda items.
Most of the items were budget related, including two adjustments to the 2019-20 fiscal year budget via resolutions. One increased the general fund budget by over $78,000 in order to pay for election equipment. That money is coming from a grant as well as an oil and gas transfer.
The other adjustment was a $24,600 increase to the general fund budget to include insurance funds received from an insurance payment for annex flood damage.
The Commissioners also approved two requests from Triangle Communications to install fiber optic cables. One was an encroachment for Base Road, the other was a temporary right of way easement for construction in Beaver Creek Park.
Also approved unanimously was a task order to allow Great West Engineering to conduct an annual manual inspection of Beaver Creek Dam, with an estimated cost of $5,000.
The Commission also provided several employment updates. Most notably, the Sheriff’s Office has hired a part time detention center officer, as well as a short term 90-day detention center officer.
