Hill County Commissioners to censure Commissioner Sheri Williams.

(Hill County) The Hill County Commissioners are set to file a motion to censure Commissioner Sheri Williams during their December 26th business meeting.

New Media Broadcasters got comment from Commissioner Jake Strissel

“We wrote that resolution to just educate the public on what is going on in our office and some of the stuff that Sheri Williams has been doing. It’s just letting the public know what we’re working with every day in that office”

And comment from Commissioner Mark Peterson

“Basically, the last year has been really difficult in our office by the actions taken by commissioner Williams. It’s basically a statement that we no longer have faith in her ability to be a Hill County Commissioner”

Both Strissel and Peterson said that there is not a concerted effort to remove Willaims from office, nor would it be plausible to do so.

NMB also received comment from Commissioner Williams:
“I’d like to inform the public on what a censure is. It’s an expression of strong disapproval or harsh criticism, and a form of public humiliation.

The information in the resolution that’s being addressed in the Hill County Commissioner Meeting on December 26ths weekly business meeting consists of opinions, fabrications, slander, and character assassination from both Commissioner Peterson and Strissel.

This has been a long-term pattern towards me in the last two years. I feel this is an inappropriate use of our taxpayer dollars as this could have been addressed either at the time I gave notice to be out of the office during the holiday or after I returned on December 30th.

This doesn’t reflect the ethical and professional standards that Commissioners Peterson and Strissel are demanding.

I have no further comment at this time.”
