HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – With the deadline for candidate declarations for the 2022 Elections now in the rearview mirror, races for seats for Hill County offices are set.
The one contested primary will be for Hill County Clerk and Recorder. Deputy Clerks Lexis Dixon and Tina Salazar will face off in that race. No Republicans filed in the race and incumbent Democrat Sue Armstrong did not seek re-election.
The other contested race is for District 2 County Commissioner. Republican incumbent Diane McLean will take on Democrat Sheri Williams. Williams currently serves as the Commission’s Executive Assistant.
All other candidates to file were incumbents. They are:
- Sheriff/Coroner Jamie Ross (D)
- County Attorney Lacey Lincoln (R – was appointed by the Commission in December)
- Superintendent of Schools Victoria Proctor (R – was appointed by the Commission last summer)
- Treasurer/Assessor Sandy Brown (D)
- Auditor Kathy Olson (D)
- Justice of the Peace Audrey Barger (Non-partisan)
The primary election is June 7th, and the general election is November 8th.
The deadline for declared write-ins is 5 PM on April 4th. However, the names of declared write-ins will not be on the ballot, but they can be written in by voters.
