HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Hill County Health Department is debuting their mobile immunization clinic this week to offer vaccines for adults and children.
The clinic is debuting on June 16th and will be at the Oakwood Village from 11 AM to 2 PM, and 6 PM to 8 PM.
It will be at the Hillview Apartments on Thursday, June 18th from 11 AM to 2 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM.
On Tuesday June 23rd, the clinic will be at the Havre Food Bank from 10 AM to 1 PM.
The mobile clinic van has internet capability, so the Health Department will be able to look up patient’s immunization records.
Public Health Director Kim Larson says that she hopes people will take advantage of this service.
“During COVID-19, we haven’t seen a lot of people come in for immunizations, because everybody is supposed to stay at home. And it’s a very important preventative measure and public health initiative that we get these immunizations out there, especially to young children who have a very strict schedule and need to keep up on those recommended immunizations. So we decided to use our mobile clinic and go to people where they’re at, rather than having them come into our office.”
All vaccines recommended by the American Council for Immunization Practices will be available, with the exception of the new shingles vaccine.
Most insurance is accepted, and no child will be denied a vaccine based on an inability to pay.
No appointment is necessary, and those with questions can call 400-2415.
The Health Department says they are planning on holding more clinics in July and August.
