(Havre) – The Hill County Park Board met for their monthly meeting, inside the Timmons room at the Hill County Courthouse on Monday night.
The Rocky Boy Clinic made a presentation and request to hold their annual bike ride in the park with a date to be determined. The board passed their request with the caveats of working with Beaver Creek Park Superintendent Chad Edgar on the route of the ride and presenting proof of insurance for the event to Edgar.
The Lodge planning committee had a presentation on ground source heating for the new lodge and stated that the requests for proposals for the new lodge are out and that architects have until 4pm on April 12th to submit their bids.
The board had a discussion about their agenda setting process which was tabled until the May meeting and how the park board itself is appointed and how the committees of the park board are appointed. This was also tabled until May so board members can look at the current committees and see if any can be combined.
A member of the community asked the board to for permission to install a memorial bench in the park. The board passed the request and the community member will work with Superintendent Edgar about where the bench will be placed in the park.
In his report to the board Superintendent Chad Edgar stated that usage numbers for the park are below normal for this time of year but that is due to the weather, which also had made the park extremely wet. Edgar also stated he has been working on machinery to prepare it for the spring and summer seasons and that he is having issues with the brakes on one of his work trucks and issues with the transmission on another one of the work trucks.
The next meeting of the Hill County Park Board will be on Monday May 1st.
