HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Hill County Weed and Mosquito District has resumed fogging after receiving a shipment of product this week.
District Coordinator Terry Turner said the shipment had been delayed due to the pandemic, but now they have enough product to take them through the rest of the season.
He adds that even with the fogging, people should still take measures to prevent insect bites, especially in the evening.
“Just make sure you have your protective equipment on, or put deet on. Whatever you need to do I know protective stuff in this heat probably ain’t the option, but you’ll probably want to go with deet or picardin. If you don’t care for the deet, the picardin is even safe on infants.”
Turner says that Blaine County stepped up to help earlier this week after they ran out of product.
This summer, no mosquitos in Montana have tested positive for West Nile Virus. In Hill County, no mosquitos have tested positive for any diseases this season.
