HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Hill County reported 26 new COVID-19 cases between December 31st and January 3rd, the most in a single reporting period since early November.
Health Officer Kim Big also stated that the state health department recently made them aware that there has been a confirmed case of the highly contagious Omicron COVID-variant in Hill County. Berg says that they have no additional information regarding this case.
Only a small percentage of positive samples are sequenced by the state to determine what variant they are, so it is quite possible there are numerous cases of the Omicron variant in Hill County.
As of Monday evening, Hill County has reported a total of 3577 COVID-19 cases. 32 are active, 3,474 have recovered, and there have been 71 COVID-related deaths.
