(Havre) – The Hill County Republican Central Committee had their nominating convention for the Open Hill County Commission seat in District 3.
Nominated was candidate Morgan Olson, who was then voted as the republican candidate for the District 3 seat. Olson will face current commissioner Perry Atchison who was nominated by the Democrats earlier this month.
A special election for the District 3 County Commission positions is due to the resignation of BIll Lanier earlier this year. Because Lanier was in the 2nd year of his term, Montana Code Annotated states that a special election must be held to fill the rest of his term starting January 1st, 2027.
