Honduran Man Sentenced for Illegal Reentry

GREAT FALLS, Mont. — A Honduran national, 33-year-old Carlos Alexis Ponce-Lopez, was sentenced to 99 days in prison and one year of supervised release for illegally reentering the U.S. after two prior removals.

Ponce-Lopez admitted to entering without documentation and was arrested in Shelby earlier this year.

He had previously been removed in 2011 and 2014.

The case was prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office as part of Operation Take Back America, a federal initiative targeting illegal immigration and transnational crime.
