Jericho Mountain Fire Mapped at 493 Acres as Crews Fortify Containment Lines

POWELL COUNTY, Mont. — Fire crews continue to battle the Jericho Mountain Fire, burning five miles south of Macdonald Pass in Powell County.

Now mapped at 493 acres due to improved drone mapping, the fire remains 0% contained.

Crews are strengthening containment lines and working on structure protection planning, as thunderstorms and wind gusts up to 50 mph may challenge operations.

An evacuation warning remains in place for Rimini Road and nearby areas.

A temporary flight restriction is active, and fireworks are strictly prohibited on federal lands.
