(NMB) After finishing the year at 5 and 3, The North Star Knights football team has earned a spot in the 6 man playoffs as the number 3 seed out of the North. The Kinghts had regular season wins over Heart Butte, Power-Dutton-Brady, Box Elder, Sunburst and Great Falls Central. Their 3 losses were to Big Sandy, Centerville and Valier. Head Coach of the Knights Steve Simonson said his team steadily improved throughout the year and they run the ball.
“We got better and better. We still just run the ball mainly, because I’ve got a bunch of big boys up front and that’s what we do.”
The Knights will be on the road Saturday to take on the number 1 seed out of the South, Broadview-Lavina. Simonson says his team will have to deal with an athletic offense.
“They have a good quarterback. He’s about six foot five, six foot six, somewhere in there, and he’s got a couple of speedy receivers and backs.”
Kickoff for Saturday’s first round playoff game is set for 1pm at Broadview-Lavina
