In a District 1B girls basketball semifinal on Friday night, the No. 2 seeded Chinook Lady Sugarbeeters outpaced the Shelby Lady Coyotes, (71-41). Chinook gave Shelby a taste of their own medicine, hitting 11 3-pointers.
The game started off on a (13-0) run. It was 15-4 at the end of the first quarter. The gas pedal was stepped on with full throttle as the Lady Beeters took a (40-22) lead into the locker room. The third quarter canceled itself out as Chinook ended up on top, (50-31).
Neva Lowe again led the way, scoring 18 points. She was one of three Beeters in double-figures as Brooke Fetter scored 17 and Hannah Schoen added 16.
The Lady Beeters will try and win against No. 1 Fairfield for the first time this season. The Lady Eagles downed Choteau in the first semifinal, (47-16). The top-2 teams in District 1B go at it on Saturday around 8pm and will be broadcast on KRYK-101.3FM and HiLineToday.com.
