HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – If you have not responded to the 2020 Census yet, time is quickly running out.
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday that Census Counting operations do not have to go through the end of October. The Census Bureau then announced they will end counting operations after Thursday, October 15th.
Montana remains near the bottom of states in the country with a self-response rate of just over 60 percent of households, however the Census website shows over 99 percent of households have been enumerated (self-response plus non-response follow up)
The Census count is used to determine the amount of federal funding allocated to local communities, shapes local voting and school districts, and will determine whether Montana gets a second seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
