HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – There’s a chill in the air and people in Hill, Blaine, and Liberty Counties can start applying for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program to help keep their homes warm this winter. District IV (4) HRDC Energy Program Specialist Sarah Solomon says that between October 1st and April 30th, those who qualify can get assistance no matter what kind of heating they use.
“So, for instance, if a household has NorthWestern Energy and they use natural gas, electric, even propane companies. If that’s their main heat source, they could possibly be eligible for a benefit.”
People looking for assistance need to fall with in their income and resource guidelines, as well as provide certain documentation.
“The main qualification is the actual gross yearly income limit. So, for instance, a household of one can make $25,248 or less, or a household of 2 can make $33,017 or less.”
