Lights Back on the Mat Friday and Saturday

(NMB) The MSU Northern Wrestling team gets back on the mat Friday and Saturday in Great Falls. Head Coach Tyson Thivierge says alot of his team is wrestling well including Cooper Cook, Colin Silverthorn, Martin Wilkie and Devin Crawford. He’d like to see everyone pick up the intensity on the mat.

We need to be a little more intense on the mat, not so laid back. We’ve got to go find points instead of waiting for points.“-Thivierge

Every time his wrestler’s step on the mat is an opportunity to get valuable experience and confidence as the season progresses according to Coach Thivierge, so what is he wanting to see from his team.

Our veterans, we want to see them scoring bonus points in tournaments. Our young guys, we want to see them going deep into tournaments and scoring points. Obviously, we want to see them placing and build confidence. We want to get back to a team that walks into the gym and everybody’s like, oh crap. They’re here.”-Thivierge

The Lights will compete in the Argo Duals on Friday and The Battle of the Rockies tournament on Saturday. Some of the teams competing will be Providence, Dickinson State, North Idaho College and Northwest College.
